Bookchatter’s Weblog

I am so pleased to see so many of you in Bookchatter this year.  Because it is such a big group, we will be offering 3 different titles each month.  If you finish one book and want to read another, or all three, that’s great.  We will try to keep to a theme or genre for all three books.  Check back here for meeting dates and of course to blog about the books you are reading.

Remember:  when you are blogging, say “Spoiler Alert” so you don’t ruin the ending for others.

Monday’s schedule:

Oct. 24, Oct. 31, Nov. 7, Nov. 14, There will be no meeting on Nov. 21!

We will discuss the books we read on Nov. 14th.  Please make time to read at least one of the books (more if you have time and they are available).

Thursday’s schedule:

Oct. 27 (field trip), Nov. 3, Nov. 9 (Wed), Nov. 17, Dec. 1

We will discuss the books on Nov. 17th!

Comments?  Were you happy with the ending?

Since we don’t meet for 2 weeks, you may feel the need to discuss this book through this blog.  Try not to be a spoiler.  Maybe you can post the page you are up to before your comment so others know not to read it if they are not up to that part.

Some questions to think about….

1.  How do you think Catniss feels about Gale?  How will their relationship continue when she gets home, IF she gets home?

2.  Why do they have to get so dressed up for the opening ceremony?

3.  How does always being “on camera” affect their behavior?

4.  Does this book remind you of anything in real life?

for grade 8 will start Wednesday, Oct 14 during lunch!
